I am a mixed media artist employing an experimental approach. Being self taught with little awareness or concern for the "rules",  I find myself with a natural tendency to break them.
Preferring to record positive emotions and let the experience of creating guide me, I don't start with a sketch and often have no clear vision of how the finished piece will present itself.  Working without a schedule allows some of my pieces to rest for weeks until the proper process to finish the piece becomes clear.
After a full career in accounting and business ownership and a late start in art, I feel the freedom of being an artist without fear or urgency of creating under conventional standards. Experimenting with acrylic paints, inks, and various mediums and tools, I sometimes find myself with a finished painting and no clear memory of the individual steps taken on the way.
Finding beauty in textures created by nature, decay and wear, I find an escape from the rigid world of business and numbers: taking inspiration not only from other artists, but also from details others may rarely notice. I find myself drawn to intricate patterns of parking lot repairs, cracked sidewalks and worn buildings, rusted metals, peeling paint, and used construction materials. Found or discarded items are often my inspiration for the day. My hope is to share with the audience the beauty I see in these easily unnoticed surfaces or items.
